THE BLAME ITS

THE BLAME ITS

The town of Hinton is normally known for its scenic view of the Rockies and noxious smelling air from its pulp mill. But now it's time to fess up to its greatest accomplishment of all: the spawning ground of the Blame-its. Since grade school twin brothers Tye (singer/bassist) and Trav (singer/guitarist) along with drummer Chrispy have been honing their sound into the tight melodic fury they call "soda pop punk." Although the spunky young trio moved to Edmonton in 2003, for six years they cut their teeth playing and organizing punk shows in their hometown. From playing tiny hall shows with their friends to putting together an annual outdoor punk festival and packing them in down at the Olympia Tavern, the Blame-its helped put Hinton on punk rocks musical map. Now they've landed in the big city with the determination to take things much farther. The Blame-its went to Vancouver in January 2003 to seek the help of engineer Jesse Gander (d.b.s,Operation Makeout,Black Rice)to record their debut disk "Freeze My Brain" . Thirteen tracks of adrenaline fueled madness; "Freeze My Brain" shows just how good a band can become growing up in a town with nothing better to do than rock. Since moving to Edmonton the Blame-its have been gigging and touring furiously, playing shows in a number of local venues as well as supporting their independent release with a few provincial tours and a cross Canada trip helping the Blame-its sell 380 of the first 500 pressed in a year from the release in August 2004. The Blame-Its found themselves quickly crashing on the Hive Studio floor in spring of / 05 to once again work with engineer Jesse Gander recording their offering "Shoot the Shit".The 8-song e.p, that surly captures the amount of punk rock potential these three dudes have to offer.Their hard work has proven worth wile, finding consistent airplay on local CJSR. Fall of /05 the band toured with friends Blacklisted to support their independently recorded and released single split c.d. The Blame-its looked to Hamilton Ontario's AMP Records for the release and distribution for ''Shoot The Shit". Road To Ruin distribution placing their first pressing in stores in March of 2006. In January of 2007 The Blame-its celebrated a decade of playing together. Shortly after deciding to refresh their line up with Marco West ( Blacklisted) as their new drummer, and Chrispy stepping up to fill out their sound on rhythm guitar. They have come a long way playing and partying for nearly a decade. they're ready to hit the road and shake shit up in a town or city near you. So the secret is out--the Blame-its are here. Don't be forced to blame yourself for missing out on these wild cats.

GARY DEBUSSY

GARY DEBUSSY

Gary Debussy is three old friends playing noisy instrumental music on a guitar, bass and drums in Edmonton, Canada. The group's members have worked together since 2003 on a sound that mixes punk, metal, rock and improvised noise in tight, blistering arrangements. Gary has shared bills with bands like Deerhoof, The Shooting Guns, Zebra Pulse, Jom Comyn, Freak Heat Waves, Fist City, Slates, Boosh and Faith Healer. The band recorded many times over the years, but it was only after hitting Edmontone Studio and working with sound engineer Doug Organ that the members felt they had something ready for release. New record in hand, Gary plans to keep playing whatever rooms and festivals will have them while writing new music in the basement where they have spent the past fifteen years.

DESIDERATA

DESIDERATA

From the frozen ridges of Ft. McMurray come Desiderata--the band that combines balls-firmly-to-the-wall punk rock with sharp angular riffs, pounding basslines and drums that would make lesser men bow in supplication to ancient, craven gods. With songs like "Fritz Called it Magnum" and "Guys Like Girls in Armour Plating" Desiderata offer songs that will get the kids in the stud-lined leather jackets off their ass and breaking down with the best of them. Even though they're one of the chubbiest bands in music, their raucous tunes can get everyone sweating in the pits.

BLESSED

BLESSED

"Blessed is a band based on uncompromising work ethic, a commitment to democratic involvement between members, striving never to repeat itself. Comprised of members from the Fraser Valley, the off-to-the-side Vancouver suburb the group resides in, Drew Riekman, Jake Holmes, Reuben Houweling, and Mitchell Trainor came together to create something they had been looking for in their previous projects. Between the four, their projects have toured internationally (US, EU), recorded with Corin Roddick (Purity Ring), and played many esteemed festivals (Sled Island, Rifflandia, NXNE, SXSW). Blessed has, in its short existence, been fortunate enough to play alongside Garrett Klahn (Texas Is The Reason), The Courtney’s (Flying Nun), Preoccupations (JagJaguwar), Chastity (Captured Tracks) and Fucked Up (Matador). After a winter in Montreal, guitarist/vocalist Drew Riekman approached the three other members about a project designed to fulfill a desire wherein they could create music with no boundaries in it's creative process, and tour as relentlessly as they pleased.

Blessed are:
Mitchell Trainor

CHAM

CHAM

Cham is a quartet, their music blends proto-punk often with angular guitar, lyrically focusing on destructive personal behaviour expressed through irony. They stray from subject to subject exploring different facets of subversive lifestyles.
Their songs are packaged into compact pop songs leaning towards 70’s east coast garage and the fractured compositions of post punk.
