FACTOR - Collective Initiatives

Showcase production for artists from official language minority communities:75% of total eligible budget up to $100,000; Showcase production for export-ready artists:50% of total eligible budget; Festival Support: 50% of the total eligible budget; The amount of funding provided shall be proportionate to the scope, reach, and impact of the project and is subject to the availability of funds.

This program is comprised of three components that help finance music industry events, showcases, and productions that have a collective benefit for the Canadian music industry. Every event or initiative funded under this program must be collective in nature. Projects cannot predominantly benefit any one artist or enterprise. Successful projects will create new market development results for Canadian artists or music entrepreneurs.

FACTOR - Support for Eligible Music Companies
DEADLINES: June 4, 2026; October 22, 2026. AMOUNT: For Business Development and Business Travel: FACTOR may provide investment support of 50% of the total eligible budget to an annual maximum of $7,500 per Applicant company rated 2, and up to an annual maximum of $15,000 per Applicant company rated 3, per FACTOR fiscal year, across both components. For Songwriter Support for Music Publishers: Music Publishers may access this third component. FACTOR may provide investment support of 50% of the total eligible budget to a maximum of $2,500 for Music Publishers rated 2 or 3. This amount is in addition to the Business Development and Business Travel cap.

Funding to new and emerging companies for business development initiatives that support the marketing and promotion of the company and its services, domestic and international travel to support the company’s development objectives, as well as funding for music publishers to support songwriter initiatives.

Period Two:September 18, 2025, 5:00pm ET for events occurring between December 1 and March 31, 2026. Period Three: January 22, 2026, 5:00pm ET for events occurring between April 1 and July 31, 2026. Period Four: May 21, 2026, 5:00pm ET for events occurring between August 1 and November 30, 2026.
AMOUNT: Up to $30,000 per project.

The Sponsorship program allows FACTOR to support music-related projects and events which are not captured in other program mandates. New and genre-specific music festivals, broadcaster conferences, workshops, artist development programs, industry association events, and international showcases are examples of projects that FACTOR has supported.
